Death is the end of the life cycle. In contrast to birth, death is faced with anger and sadness.
Doctors are familiar and feel comfortable treating the life threatening conditions of their patients. When witnessing death physicians learn about the short and transient life span of humans on earth, the value and gift of life.
Physicians also learn the imminence of their death. This self projection into the future precipitates an occult sadness and even unexpressed depression in them.
In between birth and death there is a seemingly immortal sense of life. However physicians are always reminded of death In their daily dealings with patients and when their assess their own lives.
